The role map
For every decision a system takes part in, you record who decides, who does the work, who configures the system, who checks and who can reverse it. The page shows where ownership exists without time or authority. It needs no login and stores nothing.
Tool · The role map
Who decides, who configures the system, and who can take it back?
Time: ten minutes per decision. Start with three decisions that come up often and that a system takes part in. Enter how things run today.
The role map in the book records, for each step, who is affected and who answers for it. The book adds two lines to it: who answers for how a system is configured, and who is told when the configuration changes. This version adds review time, a way back and a review date.
Think it through with your own AI
This button copies your map together with a set of instructions. Paste both into the AI your organization has approved. It asks about your entries and doesn't assign roles for you. This page sends nothing anywhere. What you paste goes to your AI provider, so leave out the names of people, customers and suppliers.
